Regarded as Brazil’s foremost bass player in the contemporary scene, Thiago Espirito Santo celebrates the 30th anniversary of his career with a series of exciting new releases. Thiago’s passion for music has led him to study several instruments (he even released an album, "Na Cara do Gol", on which he plays electric guitar), as well as to develop his very own style as a composer. But the fretless bass remains his main instrument, and you'll instantly recognize Thiago at the first note! Throughout the years he has performed and recorded in Brazil and abroad with many great artists, including tours with Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, Yamandu Costa and Hamilton de Holanda.
Thiago has released over 20 solo and group albums - among them, “The Jazz Tradition”, recorded in the US and that includes a mix of jazz standars and Thiago´s own compositions. He has also contributed to the music of Hermeto Pascoal, Kiko Loureiro, George Benson, Kenwood Dennard, Alessio Menconi, Gregoire Maret, Dominguinhos, Toninho Horta, Hélio Delmiro, Paulinho da Costa, Oswaldinho do Acordeon, Heraldo do Monte, Arismar do Espirito Santo, Silvia Goes, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, Raul de Souza, Marcio Bahia, Robertinho Silva, Toquinho, Filo Machado and Maria Bethania, among many others.

Presenting his own music, Thiago performs on the bass, along with his quartet that has Cuca Teixeira on drums, Bruno Cardozo on piano and Jota P. on saxophone.
The songs have catchy melodies and a remarkable feel.
“Thiago is a phenomenal musician, of course, but also a great composer. His songs are really catchy, with deep grooves, logical harmonies and melodies that I can't get out of my head.“

THIAGO PLAYS TOM JOBIM
Tom Jobim's music is a great influence to Thiago's way of composing, specially because of it's original orchestration and the emotion put into every song. Thiago presents a show filled with classics, that engage the audiences from the start.

THIAGO ESPIRITO SANTO
WITH SANDRO HAICK
In a performance filled with masterfully rendered, stripped-down music, the duo perform on acoustic and electric guitars and on the electric bass, showing an unique musical synergy among them.
With beautifully arranged music, they both show profound knowledge of all genres presented, extremely sharp technique and the finest taste to allow the music, and each other, to shine.
Their duets range from classic Brazilian Bossa Nova, such as Jobim's "Triste" or Gilberto Gil's calm ballad "Se eu Quiser Falar com Deus" to Beatles's legendary "Yesterday", with delightful jazz standards, completely renewed, as their version of "The Way you Look Tonight ", "There Will Never Be Another You" and Bill Evans's beautiful "Waltz for Debby".
